Taínos created some of the most elaborate pieces of pottery for their daily use and for ceremonial use. The beauty of some of the ceramic pieces found are second to none. |

After gathering the richest clay or earth, they coiled it to make the ceramics. |

Wood is gathered to make a fire. |
Smaller pieces of wood are inserted inside the pottery. |

Larger pieces of wood are added around the pottery. |
Once the pottery is all covered, the fire is set. With no knowledge of temperature control or timeframe for burning, the Taínos knew exactly when the ceramics were done. |
